I think I know what age Misty is. I think she is 12.
Misty was created when the video games were created, what was before the anime, in 1995. And now is 2007. So 2007 - 1995 = 12
God, she is younger than me XP Well in anime she could be a different age but that is what I think her age is.

She's about 14. The time sequence is kinda confusing, but in a way it's easy to understand.

Here's my explaination:

It was confirmed in "Battle of the Badge" that Ash and company had been traveling in Kanto for a year, so let's start off by saying since Ash started his journey on his 10th birthday, as of BotB he's 11, and since Orange Islands was just a mini-season, he doesn't really get older there, so about the middle of Johto would be another year, so he'd turn 12, and between the middle of Johto and the middle of Hoenn would be another year, so then he'd be 13, and the middle of Hoenn to the middle of Sinnoh would be yet another year, so he'd be 14.

All that said, assuming Misty is the same age as Ash, she is about 13-14 years old. But if we assume she's a year OLDER then Ash, like most say she is, she's about 14-15 years old now.

Anyway something like that was confirmed in episode 9, The School of Hard Knocks. That Ash had been travailing for 2 months. What is very confusing. And I'm not going to try and work it out.

Heh...I seem to take a more real-time approach to the show. The passage of time in the show is the same as the passage of time in real life. I mean, the airing of The Battle of the Badge in America came in September of 1999, which is about a year after the debut of the show in September of 1998. A similar logic applies to Japan. It's true that The Battle of the Badge happened 16 months after the debut of the show, but you have to realize that the show took a 4-month hiatus due to the seizure incidence. 16 minus 4 is 12! That's enough evidence to convince me! ;D

Anyways, I have a Japanese bias, so I usually look at things from the Japanese perspective. Pokemon debuted in 1997 in Japan. Assuming that she is 12 at the start of the show, she would have been born in 1985 (or 1984 if her birthday hadn't passed, but I'd say 1985 is more likely.) Based on that, she would be 21/22. I guess this line of logic is to make her closer to my age. ;D
