The way I see it is that the US version of pokemon differs greatly from the original Japanese one. A lot of scenes were cut and re-edited. Not to mention that about 20 episodes have not been shown in the US since the anime began. As for manga though, it's filled with censurable scenes. Hot springs are just a single example- there were hundreds of them xD
Plus, there are the entire hentai series also made for pokemon but whoaaaaah, we're not going that far.
