Given some problems involving inactive moderators, low activity levels, and over all issues plaguing this forum I think its a good idea to restart it through a new provider. At this time I am seriously looking at Invisionfree which is more sophisticated than Proboards and offers more room for expansion and also more features for both the users and moderators/admins. This is something I will discuss with Waterlil, the forums founder as I think its only right that she gets a say in the future of this group. A transition could potentially revive this community as a whole and I am active in others and have close ties to the founder and co-founder of another community who would most likely be willing to be an affiliate which will help speed up the process of growing.

It's a good idea. A new forum could mean more activity and more members but if we don't do it right, we might mess up the whole thing. I don't want this forum to end up like pokeshippers.proboards did. And Waterlil will certainly know what it is I'm refering to as she was a member on that forum.

I heard about that situation, the forum had to shut down due to lack of inactivity but this could be a revival and bring more people in. Given the situation on other forums an example being Bulbagarden I can see a rebirth of this forum as being a good idea and give the people who had to put up with nothing but crap in other groups the chance to discuss not just Misty but also pre-Advanced Generation without any repercussions or flamewars started by haters.

I agree about that as well. We really need to be more active in order for our group to survive the test of time. Besides, we need it to be a haven for Misty fans, seeing how BMGf and SPPf are currently becoming almost hell for us, like when I was sent to the Hall of Shame.

I am thinking about it but need to get in contact with Waterlil first, I think its only right she has a say in this as founder. We have some serious problems and inactivity is just one of them another one is moderators as well.

Alright but I fear I should warn you that moving to a new host site (such as InvisionFree) will not be a definite solution to either of those problems. I daresay that you may even be left with only a handful (at most) of members who are still following the site.

I have no judgement. Do what you think is right. But I don't see how it would work for more activity.

It happened once to a pokeshipping forum waterlil was also a part of. We decided to remake and then move the forum, it didn't work out and the forum got closed down altogether. I would absolutely hate if something like that happened here. I should have probably voted no.

Yeah, a lot of forums that seem like outcasts or unpopular usually don't need to be moved to a new host, they just need to be offered to the right people. I say go to places like DevArt (Misty Club, Pokeshipping Club) and post a message (whether private or public) to the members there.
Putting together something on FFN too might work. Like, they allow forums there now so add either an extension of Waterflower World there or maybe a general character fansite forum, then talk about Waterflower World under a Misty topic or thread.
Though. admittedly, sites like InvisionFree offer more to members (like more space for PM's and avater W/L, plus unlimited character count for posts).

Wait a minute, I have an idea if some of you are willing to join another forum. I am really close with the founder and co-founder of the Pokefriends forum and will see if I can get a branch placed there under the user hosted forums section if many of you are willing to join. Its small but a friendlier environment than the bigger ones and plus you don't have to worry about attacks from haters there because well there are none.

That sounds fine by me. See if you can add us in there. Do they feature written works (fanfic and stuff areas)? I just wanna know if its a more "general" version of this board.

It is a more general version and yes there is a fan fiction section on that forum too. There is not a fan art section but I would have to see if fan art would be accepted but most likely the answer would be yes. I happen to be a moderator there and its a more friendly environment than the bigger forums such as Bulbagarden or SPP which have people who are known to harass Misty's fans and in some cases bash Misty herself.
