The show has been dead to me for years so I don't really care about the BW series. I might watch the Origins special however since that is set in Kanto.

True, the show has sucked for so long, and probably always will.

Since I made it a point to do to the Japanese producers of Pokémon what the American colonists did with the British Empire shortly before the American war of independence (ie, boycott the company), I haven't watched anything from Pokémon, certainly not BW. From what you described about Iris in another topic, I'm guessing she, like May and Dawn, were of the Female Anime Stereotype?

Well she's not stereotypical like May and Dawn, but that doesn't mean she's not annoying. One of her running gags is calling someone a child (even though she's one herself...). It wouldn't be so bad if she only said it a few times, but no, "What a kid!/kokomo ne!" is her catchphrase.
Also, she doesn't actually WORK for most of her accomplishments..

Don't really care anymore; stopped watching pokemon ages ago. The show has sucked ever since the original trio split in Master Quest and if my memory serves me correctly that happened more than 10 years ago. Nothing is ever going to change that.

Wow, the show's officially sucked for an entire decade, as opposed to 5 years of decency...

Wow, the show's officially sucked for an entire decade, as opposed to 5 years of decency... Yes, and I also noticed that the few instances of Misty returning actually brought the ratings up, so I definitely know the decline in ratings, at least in part, had to do with Misty's removal (which I still maintain was a big mistake). I also suspect the ratings are going to continue to get worse over time, low birth rates or not.

And yet people deny this...

Actually, something I just realized:
They removed Misty because they wanted more "eyecandy", right? And given the huge amount of fanservice-y and... questionable things they depicted with May and Dawn (don't have a comment for Iris or her replacement, as I've obviously haven't seen them to make any determination), they weren't kidding, right?
Well, seeing how they are at least 10 years old, wouldn't that technically qualify as distributing child pornography? That's... well, the writers are technically doing a criminal act by subjecting ten year old girls to fanservice like that. I don't know what laws are like in Japan, but its certainly illegal here in the United States. If its illegal in Japan, at least officially... well, I hope they've got a good lawyer.
