In case you're wondering what's up with the poll, in Dogasu's recent redo-comparison of Beauty and the Beach, he gives the revelation that Ash's mom, contrary to popular belief, did NOT win the beauty pagent in the original version, and the true winner wasn't specified. He did hint that there were two possible winners of the contest, one of them is Misty, the other is one of Gary's cheerleader squad members.
So, do you think Misty won, or do you think that it's one of Gary's squeezes?
Personally, I think that Misty's the one who won it due to these facts:
One, the trophy was being carried by Delia Ketchum (I'm pretty sure that if it was one of Gary's cheerleaders, then Professor Oak would be the one carrying it.). Two, Misty was most likely a runner up (we (or at least, I don't think we saw) didn't even see what the Cheerleaders did before Team Rocket tried to blow up the joint.). Three, Misty swore to deliver the money to Moe when she wins to pay damage costs done to the dock, and since it's been repaired, who do you THINK paid it off?
Anyways, I'd like to hear your views on the matter, and that's all for now.

Well, it's hard to say really. The whole episode was messed up badly, the dub was pathetic and there were many parts edited in a peculiar way. Basically, it was as close as pokemon ever got to perversion and pedophilia. In the original Japanese version, Moe hits on Misty saing "Things would be funny if you were 8 years older." and since Misty was 12 back then and 20 is considered to be an adult age in Japan, then it's obvious what he's talking about. In the original version James was wearing a pair of, erm, inflatable boobs that were scarcely covered by the bra material which was pretty weird to me + throughout the whole epsiode there were 100s of sexual refrences... so it's hard to say, the Japanese version differs greatly from the English one.
But I always thought that Ash's mother had won it xDDD

Meh, I'll have to take your word for it, as I personally have never seen it. I agree on everything except for Misty being 12, since the Japanese raw of Ash Catches a Pokemon said that Misty said, in translation "This is the worst thing that has ever happened to me in the ten years of my life!" after waking up to Caterpie sleeping next to her. I know, in fact, it was thanks to the breast scene that this episode was banned (well ok, not exactly "Banned" per-se, but you know what I mean.) Err... Hate to break it to you, but: So, we have official proof from Dogasu that Delia didn't win the beauty competition, as she never entered.

Well I don't know about her age, because remember that she was almost swallowed by a Gyarados when she was little- about 2 years old. So, maybe she meant that it was the worst thing that happened to her since that moment and not since she was born? A lot of fans consider Misty's age to be a bit higher than Ash's. And the Anime never fully explains how old she was as of debiout. Plus, the Pokemon Chronicle series made matters even more confusing with the Gyarados-omg-almost-eats-Misty stuff.

And the Anime never fully explains how old she was as of debiout. Plus, the Pokemon Chronicle series made matters even more confusing with the Gyarados-omg-almost-eats-Misty stuff. A two-year old would most likely be a toddler by Human standards, and since she couldn't even learn how to walk yet, All I can say is that she was, if not one year old, then at least a few months old.) I didn't watch Cerulean Blues, BTW (I was fearful of watching it because of something that a certain anthropromorphic Aardvark said to his sister in regards to a Moo-Barney hybrid childrens show.) also, "ten years of my life" kinda implies that she's ten years of age. If she said "ten years out of my life" then that would definitely imply that out of her life, only ten years would the bad things apply. As for what most of the fans believe, it's either because, a. of Electric Tale of Pikachu stating that Misty is twelve, or b. because of her status as a Gym Leader. However, none of those apply since, A. Misty was only stated to be 12 in the manga (which contradicts a lot of things in the Anime, anyways), and B. her being a Gym leader means nothing, since Bugsy and Tate/Lisa were also ten as well (if not even younger), and they also were gym leaders as well, despite their age. Well, there's also the fact that a making of Pokemon sketchbook had 12 on there, but Dogasu said it in a way that implied that he doesn't exactly remember for sure, but thinks thats what it said, plus the fact that it could have been a retconned artwork (some designs and notes often don't make it into the final product. I mean, I heard Ash was going to be fourteen in the Anime originally, but they scrapped that idea.)

That is true, there have always been debates about the ages of Misty and Brock but in the case of Misty she looks a good level of maturity both physically and mentally for being between 12 or 14 at the time of her first appearance. I have seen Pokemon Chronicles, sure the theme song absolutely sucks but don't let it fool you the episodes I watched were actually quite good and I liked them. Putting the theme song aside would I watch them again, ABSOLUTELY and I have many times.

Hah, I think Pokemon Chronicles are for people who have enough of Ash and his ridiculous routine of going into gyms and winning badges, that stuff was kinda' bound to get old and IT DID. So, I myslef enjoy watching Chronicles a lot apart from the fact that it actualy supports Orangeshipping and that's... that's just plain wrong if you ask me but hey, times change so I guess I should just bite my tounge and stick my honour up my --- but other than that, yes, Chronicles rulez.
As for Misty's age, I still think she's was more than 10 as of debiout.
Brock's age was always a Mystery for me, but I think he was about 14 when he first appeared, making him about 22 in the latest D&P series...

True, but then again, May has the chest of a sixteen year old, and is labeled as ten (I can argue that Misty's physical maturity may be because girls grow quicker than guys, but May's rack is far too large, even FOR an early bloomer.)

I think that Pokemon Chronicles was also for those who complained about Misty being removed from the show or those who were fans of characters that don't appear much anymore on the main show such as Tracey for example. Personally, I liked Pokemon Chronicles FAR more than the Advanced Generation series. I hated most of Advanced Generation and only five episodes out of 200 or so are watchable for me and I found this to be a wonderful change from the time when the show was at its worst ever and still has not recovered from it and most likely never will. I would not be surprised if Diamond and Pearl's ratings go as low as Advanced Generation's did in 2006 which was the all time low for the entire series.

But I do happen to have a cousin that is about 11 yrs old and she looks like a 15 yr old. So, I guess it all depends on the amount of hormones that are relased to your body when you start to mature. So I guess May has an excuse for such large breasts.

Agree, and that's why D&P is either going to be the last series of Pokemon in general, or it'll be the last series with the cast as we know it. Either way, a major change and what follows, an uproar is on the way.

Huh, I never knew Delia was faked the winner in tghe English ep either. I thought she'd always won...
In truth, Delia could have paid off the dock repairs knowing that her son faced a debt. She doesn't seem the type to be too materialistic so I think she'd do that. Also, if Misty won, I would think she'd send the trophy back home to show iup (eh-hem, I mean display for) her sisters. You know, like she did with the Poke-dolls.
But your reasons are not flawed I guess. . .
