There has been a rumor that Ash will be replaced by some other character in the coming seasons... and that might be a nail to the coffin for pokemon. But of course it's just a silly rumor not to be considered that seriously. Still, I can't imagine the anime going on now without the 2 main characters missing, and to think that they'll probably shift Brock in the future as well makes matters dramatic. lol a whole new cast on the horizon? Time will show.

I would think so but then again replacing Misty was not exactly a good idea either considering though she is the most popular female character on the show and the second most popular over all. After she was replaced, the ratings for the show dropped like a stone after being boosted briefly possibly by people curious about what the show changed into.

Exacly, and that is what has been bothering me for some time now. Do they really want to bring pokemon to the rock bottom? Or they actually might be doing something else, just like it happened with Dragon Ball. What I mean is that they'll scrap the current pokemon and its cast and start over... which of course in my understanding is as bad as things can get, BUT for new fans it might be like woah, yeah! the new pokemon rulez... or something

And anyways, It was pointless removing Misty in the first place (if all of them were terribly stale, why not just replace the entire main cast?). Also, this just cements the fact that Ash is growing more unpopular the longer he's on the show (People say he's the star? HAH! Red was also labeled as such, and the last time I checked, despite his Pikachu upstaging his starter in terms of stardom (even becoming a clone of Ash's Pikachu), he still got removed from the main cast of characters, replaced, and the sales of the manga in Japan didn't dwindle.)

By this I don't see why they are not going to cancel the show all together if Ash is becoming unpopular and they are not willing to replace him. For me it would be no big loss but I would like it if the final episode was a reunion special which features Ash, Misty, Brock, May, Max, and Dawn. Or even if it is not that I guess I would still watch it but that seems to be a very appropriate way to end the series and it would also appeal to everyone who watched it over the years. This is quite a way off and there are lots of hints being dropped in the show that Diamond and Pearl could very well be the last story arc, well for the TV show at least. I can see the video games continuing on for years and if anything they might do even better if the anime is out of the picture since the anime gives Pokemon a childish reputation among some people.

Yeah, correct. I'd love to see the final episode, the real final episode. They should make it an hour long, like a special. All the major characters coming back and fighting interacting with each other, that would be good. And seeing Ash finaly getting a life win a major tournament too. Brock getting a gf winning a breeder contest or something. Oh, and team rocket successfully stealing Pikachu giving up and becoming good. All that would more than just satisfy me, it would make an epic end!

I think that they made a new pokemon series where there is a main character that isn't Ash, but the old series is still continuing.

That one was known in the US as Pokemon Chronicles but it is not continuing on unfortunately. It was just a one-shot thing in season 7 I think but was dubbed into English.

Correct, it was known as "weekly pokemon broadcasting show" in Japan, and it was finally stopped some time ago- aaand it was a massive OrangeShipping rip off. Though the few first epsodes were good, and a few more were also interesting.
I just wonder how the anime will end, man... can't wait to see some cliffhangers and major stirrs... Ah... xD
