everyone is still here but I guess they have been busy lately. I have been myself as I have a final in college to deal with but I think that I am finished with it now.

Oh, okay. I was getting worried that everyone had left. I've been checking for new posts but there hasn't been many.

Heh. Welcome to the last six months at this place. It used to be that you can be gone for a week and still not see any new posts.

well, I guess the fact that this is changing is a good thing. I remember those times too and it is hard to think that it was not all that long ago.

oh, wait... the deadness is over, isn't it? I've done the 6th form so... I'm never busy... Unless I'll decide to go to the university to do field studies... like astronomy! maybe i will

I am taking some college classes but my pacing is rather slow as I don't want to be overwhelmed by course work. And in my case I am studying electronics as that is what I have been interested in for many years. The deadness has been over for quite some time but now I guess it truly is.

yup... and as for the course work, you'd had to see mine, lots of quantum physics... mixed with maths... ohhh, the algebra, and all that... but fortunately I finished all of it... now I'm just waiting for the results to come in.. so I can get the green light for the university of Astronomic sciences

Astronomy is a rather interesting field and I have even tried radio astronomy a bit too as there is a method to detect meteorites burning up in the atmosphere with a TV or FM radio receiver. Also, with a regular shortwave receiver it is possible to hear emissions from Jupiter caused by the magnetic attraction between the planet itself and one of its moons. And I live far away from city lights so when it is clear I can take a telescope outside and look at many different things including stars, nebula, and in some cases other galaxies.

Yeah! And you can easily see the the Andromeda in May, I live on the city outskirts so i get a perfect view too... but I'm more interested in tracking dark matter objects that you cannot see but you can tell they're there cos they have an effect on the near by astronomical bodies that usually "shiver"... also if you have a small laser device you can easily measure the distance from moon to earth as the signal returns within 2 seconds as it travels at the speed of light...

I know about that technique and the fact that on one of the Apollo missions astronauts left mirrors on the moon for this very thing.

yeah, but don't they say that the first moon landing was faked? I don't know but i have a suspicion that it might have been, back in 1969 they didn't really have the sufficient technology to get a whole team of people across 300'000 km of empty space up to a moon which has 7 times weaker gravity, no atmosphere... on a moon which could burn you when it was exposed to light and freeze you when it was facing the dark space.... not to mention the small terrestrial objects flying at mad speeds that could penetrate good few centimeters of strengthened metal...

I have heard that the moon landing might have been faked but you never know.

and even this has gotten off topic but then again, it happens and as long as no one is insulted or something like that happens. Misty has been gone for quite some time and I don't think there is much to discuss anymore but then again we could discuss Misty's glorious past.
