No offense to any pokeshippers, but I'm pretty much a nonbeliever in that particular ship. My reason is because I kinda grew up with Disney Films, and since the Majority of them makes it seem as though "Love at First Sight" Is the common way to fall in love, among other things such as Romeo and Juliet, I just couldn't see them falling head over heels with each other since... well, they didn't fall in love at first sight. Basically, I guess you guys can have Disney and Shakespeare to blame for my beliefs.

Hmm...I have a hard time understanding what your trying to say. Could explain again why you don't believe in any shipping?

Hmm...I have a hard time understanding what your trying to say. Could explain again why you don't believe in any shipping? Ok, You know Disney films, right? Well, since the most common depiction of Love in those films is through "Love at first sight", I began to think that the most common way to fall in love IS through Love at First Sight. And It wasn't just disney that got me to believe this. Even adult dramas such as Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare had "Love at First Sight" as a pretty big theme. As I saw those things and had absorbed these themes into my core mindset, It made it almost impossible to tell if any characters were to fall in love unless it was at first sight, so, I didn't believe in Pokeshipping as a result.

I understand this as I have seen lots of Disney movies when I was younger and was not exposed to Pokemon until I was 11 or so.

Heh. I grew up on Disney. Pokemon didn't debut until I was 13, and I became a full-fledged Misty fan until I was 14. I know what pokeria is talking about when referring to "Love at first sight." It's a pretty common cliche, but I'm not completely sold on that mindset. Heck, it wasn't until a year after I first met the person that I love that I fell in love with her. It's the same with Misty. It's entirely possible for people to grow fond of each other after a while if you're with them all the time.
But I still don't believe in Pokeshipping, because Misty is too good for Ash. ;p

I also grew up watching Disney movies and strangely enough one of the first movies I saw was The Little Mermaid. Yes the love at first sight thing is a common cliche which has been in lots of things from movies to plays by William Shakespere and just about every love story that I can think of. That is one way people do end up falling in love with each other is over a period of time. It was the same for me when I ended up becoming a fan of Misty, it did not happen overnight but took some time and it was a while until I realized it and now that I have I guess it was a good thing.

I liked Misty since I first saw Pokemon. My dad used to read aloud those pokemon chapter books, you know, the ones based on the anime. Well I remember the very first book he read started out while they were walking in the forest and it said that Misty was complaining. I remember thinking that Misty was a pokemon! A talking clefairy or something like that.

Well, in one version of the manga, Red's first Pokemon was a Clefairy, and a very noisy Clefairy at that. I don't think that version's ever come out to the US.
I was 13 when I first saw Pokemon. I remember the first episode I saw was The March of the Exceggutor Squad, a pretty major Misty episode, but I don't think Misty made much of an impression on me at the time. It's better than Brock, though. When my sister mentioned Brock to me one day shortly afterwards, I was like "Who?" ;D

the first Pokemon episode I can remember seeing is The Ghost Of Maiden's Peak which did not leave a big impression on me either when I first saw it but later it left a huge impression and was one episode that got me to like Misty in the first place.

I can't remember the first episode I saw. I do remember starting to like Misty right after I saw it, though.

It took a while before I realized that I liked Misty and it was not until somewhere around Johto before I realized that I liked her.
