Apparantly, according to Mistywishmaker, there is going to be a Misty Convention in Japan. According to her:
Well, I am certain that it is true, and if it is, then,
1. This is the first time in pokemon History that a main character in the franchise actually got a convention dedicated completely to herself as far as I know,
and
2. If it's like the comic-con that announced some stuff for Pokemon, this may be our chance of victory and bringing Misty back!
All we need now is the date of the convention and we should be solid.
Let's discuss this.

I agree if this is true then it really is something. I can read and write Japanese so if the original link could be found then I just might try to translate it myself.

I guess it would be best to find the original Japanese source but the problem is I don't know of a site that this kind of news would be on. But if I do see anything about this then I will post it here.

I know the site, since MistyWishMaker just told me: kasumispecial.web.fc2.com/home.htmlAlso, she told me the date that it will be at, and, well, I can't say exactly what the date is, since you said you would find it, but all I can say is, I can't make it, unfortunately. Maybe if I had a long weekend, or if it was during summer vacation at least, I'd be able to go, but I can't.

Wait...I thought you said it was in Japan. It IS in Japan (To be precise, it's in Nagoya). See, It wouldn't matter if the trip was expensive. If I could make it to Japan when my schedule is free, I can do that. But, since it's on... well... a school week, I can't make it to Japan, since it would mean skipping school, and I do not wish that, especially considering it would be finals week in my area. Besides, I actually took two flights just to get to Vancouver in British Columbia at one point, so I think I can Handle the cost from the eastern seaboard to Japan.

that is exactly what I have read too, the event will be in Nagoya Japan on May 15th apparently. I am on the west coast of the US and even then it is over 4,000 miles to Japan from here so those on the east coast certainly will have to take a few planes just to get to the convention. If this was being held in the US or possibly even on the west coast I would try to go there by any means necessary and despite the fact I will not be able to go I am very excited about this and in fact, this is the first Pokemon anime related thing I have been really excited about since the release of the second movie in 2000.

That's... Strange, MistyWishMaker told me it was the 18th of May. I mean, she knows the Japanese language, and apparantly she LIVES in Japan due to her location being written in several characters that are used if you don't have a Japanese revealer program (you know... Those boxes...). Oh, well, at least they are holding it. who knows? they may actually have a representative from OLM, Nintendo, or the Pokemon Company pay a visit. Sure, it's a fan-convention, but then again, Anime Weekend Atlanta is a fan-convention as well, and that never stopped the CEO of Funimation from paying a visit and holding a seminar.

Unfortunately, it looks like this convention has nothing to do with the anime from what I have read on another forum. But this is good, it means that Misty has not been forgotten by the fans. While the writers for the TV show are trying hard to promote Dawn by giving her more screen time than Ash it seems. So it looks like we will not be seeing Misty for a long time which really is a shame considering the fact that she is still very popular.

I agree. However, I'm Pretty certain that, even IF it was just a fanmade convention, the big Pokemon 3 would send representitives to it. I'm pretty sure that It has to do with the Anime anyways since if it didn't, It wouldn't be called an Anime convention dedicated to Misty, then.
I am certain of this because Anime Weekend Atlanta actually DID do that with one of the CEO's from Funimation (I know because when I was collecting signatures for the petition when I went with a friend, I stumbled upon a seminar being held by the CEO of Funimation), and that convention was also Fanmade as far as I can tell, AS fanmade as the Misty-con in Japan.
Plus, Comic-con had a representative from PUSA mention what Japan plans to do with Pokemon (I heard that they were actually thinking of revealing Ash's father at one point.), and that convention was the same as Anime Weekend Atlanta, as well as the Misty Con.
But, I agree that this is a testament to Misty's popularity. Hopefully the writers would take notice of this, especially if they want to keep their sales as being #1 rather than have them take a dive.

Again, I am not sure if this really is an anime convention or if representatives from the Pokemon anime staff would be there either. It might be rather embarrassing for them to say they don't have plans to bring Misty back in the near future even for a brief appearance considering what the reaction might be. But the Pokemon TV show already lost viewers over the past several years and some of the people attending the convention might be part of that group.

Great, I am happy to see more information about the event especially after seeing all those posts about it. And because of the rule on age limited content I suspect that means no hentai. Which goes against what some people were saying about the event and it was mainly from people who did not like Misty at all.

I mean, it does seem to be 2008, but you have it listed as 2005, so I was wondering. Thanks, anyways?
